The first game I purchased was Yakuza 0, which I've cleared. This year I laid down a new law for myself. I can play a competitive game or two along side a single player campaign, but my past (generations) of trying to juggle multiple single player campaigns at once is why I have the backlog I have now. Especially since I'm finding titles that are easily pick up and drop. This is so much better than playing stupid games on my phone.

Then I realized, $16 for 1 game isn't a great deal, you get your monies worth with 2 games.ģDS and iPad, and soon Switch and Vita allow me to play classics on the fly and get to the older ones I haven't had time for. I was doing RedBox, but then I realized I spent like $12 to play The Last Guardian, and realized, I could have had any other game for the rest of the month with GameFly. The idea is to spend $23 and get to play 2 brand new games each month, and since shit been coming out like crazy it has been panning out, so for $23, I'm getting Wildlands and Andromeda without committing to owning them, next month I'll hopefully get HZD and Nier.

The problem was, I almost always let the sale dictate which I purchase, and with Humble Bundle, I loaded up on games I normally would have never bought. My old system was buy games during Sales so mostly playing games like 3-6 months after, but I was loading up for 6-12 months worth 2-4 times a year. Without realizing it, it made my life way easier, cause rather then randomly buy stuff and horde it, I feel more on inclined to beat it now rather than later.

I got GameFly since I got a brand new PS4 Pro and Switch, so basically planned to save money by renting. The idea was I focus on the AAA campaign whether AC/Arkham/TR/Bioshock/Mordor/Evil Within, and when I get a new Indie/Classic I'll usually get them done during weekends like Gone Home/NewNTasty/Amnesia/Witness/Fire Watch/etc., while playing F2P's like STO/ESO/TOR or online with Ops 3/Diabo 3/GTA5, they are all on/off games you don't finish per say just randomly do things, and the 3DS was great for squeezing in game time and on it I would have something Pokemon/Fire Emblem but still have time for smaller games like Shantae.Īlso, I played a ton of mobile games, in fact since they were so convenient, I easily put 50 hours into Brave Exvius in 2016, and at least 200 hours into various others through whole year like CoC, Mobius, Mario Run, FE Heros, SE GO games, and various others. In 2016 on average, I had a Big Game, Indie Game and a MMO/F2P/Online game going all at once on Steam/Xbox, a JRPG going on 3DS for on the go, something online with Xbox mostly EA games, and various classics among Wii VC/PS3 Classics. While on Steam, so far I've been doing a ton of indies that I got over Christmas Sale with a few AAA's like RotTR.

Then I stopped Xbox Live so stopped playing online with EA Access games. I've barely touched mobile games this year cause I got burnt out on them been replacing their time with 3DS/Switch. Since I got Switch, its been back in forth with Zelda/Blaster Master/Shovel Knight. Since I got PS4 Pro and GameFly I've mostly been focusing on 2 AAA brand new games, and they are shifted about 1 week, so while I waited for my new game this last week I finished Wildlands which I return tomorrow and got my new game today. 2017 so far has been drastically different for me.
